You have the option of capturing the full screen, a window, or just a section of it.

1) Shift + Command + 3 must be pressed and hold down in order to snap a screenshot.

2) To edit a screenshot, click the thumbnail if it appears in the corner of your screen. You might also wait for the screenshot to save to your desktop.



2] How to screenshot a specific area of the screen 



1) Shift, Command, and 4 are the three keys to press and hold together.

2) To select the portion of the screen to capture, drag the crosshair. Press and hold the Space bar while dragging to move the selection. Pressing the Esc (Escape) key will stop the screenshot from being taken.



3] HOW TO RECORD A MENU OR WINDOW




1) The window or menu you want to capture should be opened.

2) Shift, Command, 4, and Space bar should all be pressed and held at the same time. The pointer now resembles a camera. Pressing the Esc (Escape) key will stop the screenshot from being taken.

3) To capture it, click the window or menu. If you click while holding down the Option key, the window's shadow will not be captured in the screenshot.

4) Click the thumbnail to alter the screenshot if it appears in the corner of your screen. Alternately, wait until the screenshot is saved to your desktop.
